To bridge the skills gap between educational institutions and the professional sector, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has launched a collaborative effort with key partners, including the Ministry of IT & Telecom (MoITT), PSEB, the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), and the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC). This project aims to better synchronize computing curricula with market demands, strengthen the validity of student evaluations, and boost the career prospects of graduates.

The Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) has been designated as the official body for administering the computer-based assessments. A central Secretariat, situated at NCEAC and operating with guidance from HEC, MoITT, PSEB, and P@SHA, will manage the processes of candidate verification, inter-organizational coordination, and logistical support.

Who Can Participate

The assessment opportunity is open to students currently in their final two semesters (7th and 8th) of degree programs in fields such as Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science, provided they are enrolled in universities recognized by the HEC.

Areas of Evaluation

The topics covered in the test have been developed around skill sets highly valued by the tech industry. These core areas were determined by a specialized Technical Committee, led by P@SHA, which included input from corporate leaders, academics, accreditation authorities, and other key contributors.
